Striking ST 2 - 10
Weapon Master(Katana) - 20

disadvantages - 55 points
Vow (only use his mother's katana's) - 10
Sense of Duty(companions) - 5
Overconfidence - 5

Okay, so my disads effectively cancel out the point value of my ads. Leaving me with 55 points.

Stealth[13] DX+0 -2

And thats all of it. I gave him an emphasis on attack with both weapons and trying to counterattack if possible and for him to parry with his swords if he can. Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
His base Basic Speed is 5.75. 25 cp fixes that but I don't see it noted.

Many GMs (myself included) would not allow that without a subsequent reduction to swing damage.

Fantasy Tech has an Ethnic Badass Katana that has fencing parries, but requires Katana! as a wildcard skill.

This version is based on the Rasied in the dojo as houseboy on top of his lessons.

He can fight in his preferred Dual Katana stance, however when he only draws one sword he can switch between Two-handed stans or Hand + Judo stances with his Grip Mastery. he was trained to earn his keep by maintain the dojo, which he now can do with his campains when they don't him him to save their collective asses in a fight. 8)

Agreed, but if I'm running a game where I'd allow multiple levels of Enhanced Parry, Weapon Master, Dual-Wielding Katanas & Parry Missile Weapon Skill... I'd say it's apropriately cinematic enough to allow Weapon Adaptation (Katana to Rapier). Besides, if you are going to give it -1 swing damage, then you're better off just using an Edged Rapier... which will give superior thrusting reach and save you the cost of the perk. Deffinately it's cinematic, but it does sound like a cinematic game.

Well, yeah. But I'm much more like to play someone who uses an edged rapier than someone who dual wields katanas anyway. So maybe my personal taste is a factor...

I've got nothing against Katanas, mind you, but if I'm going to build a Japanese swordsman, I'm partial to the Iadoka type with a single sword and ridiculous fast-draw. :)

This version is based on roguebfls perfectly excellent version, only optimized to use a single sword of higher quality at a higher skill. I'd recommend using earned points to buy up some techniques, particularly Feint and Counterattack.

If you're dead set on using two swords, I fully endorse roguebfl's version. My version, however, has higher attack, higher damage, higher parry (at least against the first attack in a round), better fast-draw, the ability to throw a punch, and an ancestral sword that's better than average.

Same here... but I'm guessing the Dual-Wielding Katana thing is core to the OP's character concept, it's a little too "Asian Drizzit" for me. Otherwise he'd be much better off going with a single Katana.

For pure effectiveness when Dual-Wielding I prefer a pronged Katar (Transitioned to Main-Gauche Skill) and a Morning Star. I built one VERY effective character that way, the Katar was infact a Stump Knife for the one-handed over-the-hill rusty ex-brigand leader with serious cash-flow problems.

I was more thinking Crane Clan Samurai from Rokugan. though if he was crane clan he would have a few more courtly skills

Just nitpicking but I would dump the Grip Mastery and the Two-handed Sword bought up from default and get two Weapon Bonds and 2 pts of some other Skill, probably a social interaction one. Possilby Diplomacy if he's very polite.

This is a character that is utterly committed to his family two swords style. The Two-handed Sword is just a waste

He already has two Weapon Bonds, so your suggestion nets him 4 points to spend on skills.
