Unofficially, however, I offer the following house rule:



Weapon Master (punch) or (kick) costs 20.

Weapon Master (Punches and Kicks) or (Knees and Elbows) costs 25

Weapon Master (Unarmed)* or (weapons that use unarmed skills including cesti and fist loads) costs 30.

Weapon Master (Unarmed and all Weapons that use unarmed skills) 35

The damage bonus from weapon master does not stack any any bonuses from buying high skill.

*This replaces Trained by a Master.

I'm not really looking for such, or even trying to convince everybody else on the point. Just pointing out that it seems to be a valid interpretation by RAW.

It really wouldn't replace it, though. Although not offering any damage bonus to anything, Trained By A Master doesn't just apply to your unarmed attacks. You get the reduced penalties to Rapid Strike and multiple parries, and the ability to use cinematic chi skills, with all of your melee combat skills, armed and unarmed.

If we were to say that Weapon Master gave access to all the same skills as TBaM (which it doesn't quite currently), that would argue for the damage bonus component being worth +15 points as compared to the 30 points for TBaM, so either a +50% enhancement or a straight 1/3 of the cost of WM, depending how you look at it. Not sure if the costs for lesser groupings of WM would work out cleanly, though.
