Nice! I think your idea for doing the map in the background vertically makes for a very interesting visual effect. I have to remember it if I ever do something worth photographing :)

Yeah, I've done that a few times. The maps are ready-built awesomeness for a backdrop (and their size doesn't hurt, either).

I certainly don't claim to be the first (I'd be very surprised if I was). I just really like the GEV maps as a backdrop. They are great as a play surface for other games, too. Objective 218 has a nice flavor on them.

oh, and if the map boards were good as a backdrop... the mat is amazing as one. :-)
