Default Bestiary?

Is a bestiary planned for the game?

Thanks!

According to Guy McLimore (the line editor at SJG for The Fantasy Trip), they're working on something along those lines; but we've got no idea when it might come out (though it appears it will definitely be a Kickstarter when it does).

Greg Poehlein and I are working on one at this time, in fact. Too early to make any announcements about timing, however.

Yes, please. Gimme. I would very much like to see a Bestiary. I shall back it, if it's a Kickstarter, or just buy it if it's not.

Awesome to hear. Is there a way to pre-back the Kickstarter??! :)

We have multiple projects in the works. Up next, Decks of Destiny, will include creature cards. More books are in progress, but we're not yet ready to reveal details on the titles.

I'm in the midst of a busy TFT time - lots of playing and writing up of new setting materials. It has put me in a mind of the things I appreciate about the existing creature lists and what I hope to see in an upcoming Beastiary:

Great things we have and need more of:
- Slimes
- Swarms
- Bugs
- Nuisance creatures in general
- Plants and fungi
- Natural creatures, especially those that might make a fun mount, companion or pet
- Undead
- 'rumors' like those in the companion (many of which are about creatures)

Things we don't have and need some of:
- Oddities like 3 headed giants and such
- Dragons who do something with their massive IQ's
- Demons who do things other than teleport and grant wishes (and who are just a bit unique)
- Truly colossal, fairy-tale-scale giants and dragons. The point isn't that you would fight and kill them; the point is that they are cool and open up all sorts of interesting adventure possibilities.

Things we don't need
- A bunch of more or less similar humanoids (i.e., don't follow D+D down the 'gnoll hole' - it isn't TFT's strength, and it's all been done before).

I've actually been debating whether to bring 'true' giants into my TFT campaign. They make for terrific epic-level foes, but some rules would probably need to be added since the game doesn't currently address combat w/ opponents of great height or extended reach very well.

I think old Runequest is the model to follow here. There was a great adventure about Gon Orta's castle where you meet and interact with a colossal giant.
