Oh yes, I almost started cackling out loud in work today, when I read the 'Dark Lessie' post. That was absolutely brilliant.

Yes I saw that later, but why is Lessie's Quadruped zero points?

I agree, hilarious.

Possible answers

1) I couldn't find the page number for the Domestic Animal Meta Trait at the time because I looked under 'Templates' & 'animals', not 'Meta-Traits' & I wrongly assumed it included Quadruped already (most domestic animals are quadrupedal).

2) Lessie is so cinematic she only _looks_ horizontal, but is actually fully capable of doing things as a biped as long as no grown ups are watching.

(This is the same reason she doesn't have Secret - I'm a wonder dog. It just doesn't fit the genre conventions for the army or the circus to kidnap Lessie because she's so smart.)

By the way, I'd just like to note that the article entitled "Four Legs Friendly" in this week's Pyramid was written before this thread started.

Parallel evolution, y'know. Happens with animals.

Excellent article, BTW, Phil! It will be a huge help if I ever get around to updating GURPS Sluggy Freelance. At the very least, I'll take another look at my Talking Animals page after I've digested the 4e rules.
