Truly Obnoxious Curse vs. Sandals?
For purposes of Truly Obnoxious Curse card, does the curse negation effect of the sandals count as a 'bonus', or is 'bonus' strictly defined as '+n'?
Player B had only the Sandals on when the curse hit, I agreed to let it slide pending review... |

A "bonus" is a combat bonus, but if your only Items are ones that don't grant a combat bonus, then you do have to lose one of them.

Yes, because you have to lose one Item.

If you HAVE no equipped Items that give you a combat bonus, then by definition the highest bonus any of your Items are giving you is +0 and you must discard one Item of your choice, equipped or not.

Re: Truly Obnoxious Curse vs. Sandals?
In the answer I quoted MM clear and explicit say it must be item in use. So I think items in use with no bonus give me +0 bonus, and items not in use not give me any bonus even zero. All this time I played basing that MM's answer. You overrule it?
I just want be sure I understanding mechanic of game right.

Re: Truly Obnoxious Curse vs. Sandals?
MunchkinMan addressed a specific situation: how you resolve the Curse when you have an unequipped Item with a higher printed combat bonus than your equipped Items. The answer is that you discard the equipped Item with the highest bonus.
I addressed a different specific situation: how you resolve the Curse when you have no equipped Items that give a combat bonus. The answer is that you must discard one Item of your choice. There's no conflict between our answers.
