At the time of this post, my search finds six copies for sale only through a third party that doesn't ship to all countries. So sadly, no real change to availability yet.

At the moment, this is the best anyone can expect from Amazon.com in the US. We have put all we can into this, and there are no more paths to explore in that channel.

We offer the game to international distributors and retailers, so your only choice outside of the US is order online from us -- www.warehouse23.com -- or ask your local retailer to special order.

The current game market is overwhelmed with titles. Distributors and retailers are focusing on keeping their heads above water, and niche games fall from their radar quickly. This is why we encourage everyone to pre-order at their local store . . . and pre-order early and often.

So it took Warehouse23 putting up a storefront on Amazon, with the items shipping from Amazon's warehouse, to get a new GURPS book on there? Wow! I'd love to hear the story behind that some day.

There's no story. We took what steps were necessary to make the books available in a channel that fans constantly kept saying: "The books aren't there!"

As mentioned: We offer these books to all of our distributors and retailers. Each separate company must decide on their own which titles to carry.

Ah, so the story is simply that Amazon isn't interested in shouldering the carrying costs of this book.

The interesting thing to me, as a customer of both Amazon and Warehouse23, is that Amazon appears to be this ravenous maw that's always wanting more products to sell. But that turns out not to be the case after all...

There is no need for them to take a risk on slow sellers: http://fortune.com/2017/01/04/amazon-marketplace-sales/

It looks like it's been a good strategy for them. People who sell things as a sideline have told me that they prefer Amazon Marketplace to eBay + PayPal. I hope it works out for Warehouse23!
