It's a quick enough change, and no reason not to make it. If you find it irksome, so will others; and it's not really an issue on my radar, so feels like a win-win to me.

And these are just the basic examples. :P

EDIT: Btw, whswhs, I totally stole your "easy money" line?

We have arrived at our first look at ranged combat! Keep your head down, and let me know which errors you find that I totally left in there on purpose to test you all. (*cough*)

Nicely done, again! It's a good illustration of the basics, plus it shows one of the ways the Lite rules differ from the Basic set.

(One thing, though - it needs a link from your 'New to GURPS - Welcome!' post.)

Thanks. Funny thing is, I didn't know they differed until last night when I was writing it up. I remember being surprised hit locations weren't in Lite, either. It's apparently been a while since I read through.

Doh! Thanks for noticing -- fixed.

Huh. Given that Lite omits the Rcl stat altogether, I guess that's probably actually what it intends you to do.

I'm less bothered by the problems of that mechanic than by the fact that Lite really at no point says what to do with RoF.

Only, "The maximum number of shots an ordinary shooter can fire in a one-second turn" on p. 19. I think most people would make that leap?

Should Billy have had to roll to remain conscious when he went to negative HP?

I don't think so. I don't have my books at work, but I believe both Lite and Basic Set say "make a HT roll at the start of your next turn," a turn that never comes since the example comes out of combat time before it begins.

Hashed over pretty well here.

Would the Rcl stat come into this?
