[OOC] Dungeons of Death
Dungeons of Death
Are you ready to hack? This is a straightforward dungeon-crawl for 250 point GURPS Dungeon Fantasy characters built using the classes in the DF series. The dungeon is guaranteed not to make any sense - rooms will be strung together and populated with monsters with no rhyme or reason beyond what seems cool at the time, in the most surreal traditions of old-school D&D. The game is not intended to last. In about 30 days, I will probably have to stop. I have no idea how far we can get in 30 days. I’m just going to drop the PCs at the dungeon door, let you start hacking, and see what happens. PCs can begin gathering at the Warg and Wagon Tavern in the little town of Pitfield. When you decide that you have enough for a party, I’ll move you immediately to the dungeon at the base of Mount Stoneguard. New PCs will be allowed to join the party freely. I’ll just retcon them into the story as people the party had agreed to meet up with. Any interest? Post prospective characters to this thread please.

This might well have proven a great gig in life except an Elder thing used incomprehbnsible dark arts no honest wizard or even a few dishonest ones could understand, and slew the royal family merely to retrieve one idle curio sitting on a shelf in the room. It then vanished, and the resultant civil war ripped the small kingdom to shreds. Since then Keith has survived by his wits and his blade.

In general, I'm not going to use it when rolling for you unless it seems obvious that you probably should. As soon as we have a second PC, you can meet up at the inn. When you decide you have enough to start, we'll move the party to the dungeon entrance and others can join up when they are ready. By the way, I saw your sabre thread in the GURPS forum. If you want to make use of material from GURPS Martial Arts, that's great.

Power Ups 2: Perks p. 15 (listed in the index without page number btw). If you want to pull a point for that, I'd suggest dropping the 22 Karate to 21 (Overkill IMHO) and spend the remaining 3 points shoring up skills. Search wold go from it's default of 8 to 12 for one of those points, Shield (Buckler) at 15 provides a Defense of 10, same as 14. The two remaining points going into it changes your block to 11. Minor nit: Should her First Aid be for humans and not her native race?

I should have made this clearer, but I wanted the PCs to use the classes listed in the various DF supplements. Alteria doesn't seem to be a particular class.
I apologize for the inconvenience. This is my bad entirely - you built a character fit for the dungeon then I pulled the rug out. I'll fix the call for characters posts. If there is a character concept you particularly want to capture that the classes as written just can't accomodate, we can negotiate. For instance, I can see that an Elf might have access to Heroic Archer just because she is an Elf. Karate 22 is more problematic because it is more raw skill than a Martial Artist could have by following the template in GURPS DF 1. I want to maintain niche protection.
