_BattleTruck_: Has anyone else seen this?
http://www.avclub.com/articles/battletruck-1982,44204/
Cheesy (is there another kind?) New-Zealand-made 1982 post-apocalypse flick. I confess I'd not heard of it before -- may have to locate a copy.... [in best Wile-E.-Coyote manner, holds up sign reading "IN HEAVEN'S NAME, WHAT AM I *DOING*!?]

Re: _BattleTruck_: Has anyone else seen this?
Battletruck (released as Warlords in the 21st Century in the U.S.) was made available on DVD on Amazon.com earlier this month for the first time ever. The movie is combined with Battlesport.
Battletruck has several good scenes. The opening narration of radio reports about the current state of the U.S. is very good. John Ratzenberger of Cheers and Made in America acts very well in Warlords of the 21st Century as the genius mechanic Rusty. I first watched Warlords of the 21st Century over 20 years ago on the cable station TBS. Finally, it is available on DVD.

Haha yes I totally remember this movie. It's got one of the guys from The Warriors (1979), and he drives a partially armored motorbike all over the place. If you enjoyed similar low budget apocalyptic movies like Wheels of Fire, then definitely check Battletruck / Warlords of the 21st Century out.

Re: _BattleTruck_: Has anyone else seen this?
Yeah I watched on VHS at my boarding school in mid '80s . It was one of the more popular films as the 'Friday Video' , out of 60 odd pupils , I'd guess we'd have half of them watching - about 10-12 huge Car Wars fans .
A good film - I'm easily pleased - , it was just a pity it did live up to me 'Autpduel' expections .

Not as far as I know, and the Info Club Episode Guide seems to agree.
ObTopic: Never heard of BattleTruck before. Not my thing anyway.

Re: _BattleTruck_: Has anyone else seen this?
Do not dismiss Warlords in the 21st Century as another B-grade movie or imitation of Mad Max. There are several good autoduelling elements.
The Battletruck is heavily armed and armored. I would not be surprised the Dreadnought from Death Race was partially inspired by Col. Straker's Battletruck. I watched the movie this weekend. I noticed something that escaped my attention previously. Hunter uses a single-barrel, shotgun-style, pistol grenade launcher. I thought it was a flare launcher. Such a weapon would have lower range than other hand-held GLs but it would be a useful tool in an autoduelling campaign. Warlords in the 21st Century would be a great Car Wars scenario that would challenge the strategies and roleplaying skills of the PCs.

How hard is it to dig a 4'-long ditch across the road and camouflage it? :)
