Default Tank Treads

Can anyone figure out damage to treads in CW Tanks?

'Each tread in the track pair has 5 DP plus 1 DP per 2,000 lbs. of the vehicle's weight, rounded up (a 60,000 lb. tank would have 35 DP per tread, one tread per side). Tread DP is treated as metal armor.'

It would take an average of 10d damage to penetrate that (like a Tank gun with HEAT ammo, or a 105mm Tank Gun). Is that the intent?

Why does the Tracked AFV Record Sheet have 14 boxes on each side?

Shouldn't the sample vehicles calculate the tread DP? The Pickett M7F3 Infantry Fighting Vehicle should have 21 DP treads for example.

Might those be the skirts?

Skirts are like wheel guards, they just have a value. They're not all 14 points of armour.

I had a glance at it, I think it's just for aesthetics. I don't think the 14 boxes represent anything other than they're treads and not tires.
