Ogre and GEV Usable Miniatures
I've just received my first set of Ogre plastic minis. I'll post them on my site when I get them painted. In the meantime, here are some links to my website www.texaswargamer.com that show painted sci-fi and modern 1/285 miniatures that would work with Ogre/GEV:

Re: Ogre and GEV Usable Miniatures
Thank you. I specialize in speed painting techniques, usually 3-5 minutes per model. They'd never win a Golden Dragon, but they look spiffy on the table. The Techniques tab on my page has a number of speedpainting tutorials, including:
AFVs with 3 toned desert camo (55 models; 4.5 mins/model): http://texaswargamer.com/techniques/...nting-6mm-afvs 1970s Germans (26 models; 3 mins/model): http://texaswargamer.com/techniques/...g-rehabbed-ghq |

OMG, that cammo MK V is fantastic!
Also, thank you very much for the "speed painting" instructions. That's gonna help a LOT of us. Really. Some of us have about 11,000 minis coming our way in May. Yeesh!

I’m pretty sure I saw that Ogre cameo scheme somewhere else. I’m not that creative. |

Re: Ogre and GEV Usable Miniatures
Hear, hear! Using a similar technique to yours, I was able to knock out two full copies of Ogre Miniatures Set 1 in about three weeks. I was only painting one or two days a week, and only for a couple of hours each day, so while I didn't time myself I think it was about eight to ten hours total. I will definitely be adopting some of your methods to speed through my burgeoning collection.
For reference, my technique (based on the Army Painter method): 1. Clean up and assemble models. 2. Spray with a colored primer 3. Wash with appropriate ink 4. Drybrush with the color that matches the primer 5. Drybrush again, with that color mixed 50/50 with white 6. Add details: usually just black, but sometimes a couple others I don't usually seal, but I really should. |
