Default GURPS: Darkspore RPG thoughts

Just had a little brainstorming session I thought I'd
share.

I've been looking over at the upcoming Darkspore
videogame, an Action RPG & now I'm wondering
if anyone has thought about turning Spore into a
pen & paper RPG.

Here's a video of a trailer (think mass effect/diablo
combo):

There are some interesting challenges to turning it
into a GURPS game. I suppose you could build your
Hero using the creature tools & translate the cost
of the parts used into GURPS advantages/disadvantages
or skills & you have an image of your creature that
you can put into your character sheet. Despite what
some people may think about the silliness of the spore
creatures when it originally came out, the tools can
produce some master works, all it takes is a casual
glance at the sporepedia to see what can be accomplished.

Then after that, it's just a matter of figuring out a
setting to put it all in, perhaps Darkspore, or your
own settings and having the sporepedia as the
largest monster manual to harness (something like
155 million creations).

I think it's an even better idea now that Dark Spore can't even be legally played anymore
