I don't think so.
Deathtouch ignore armor, forcefield does not change that.

Forcefield affect melee spell that don't ignore dr, like Burning touch for example.
For those spells, their effect will only apply if the carrier attack (a hand strike in the case of burning touch) is strong enough to overpower the forcefield dr.
While with non-forcefield dr, the effect would have applied on a successfull hit, even if the hit have not done enough damage to overcome the dr.

This is how i understand it.

So, Deathtouch and Shocking Touch are not spells that rely on touch?

I think they are supposed to work like Melee Maledictions.

Maledictions have Quick Contest of Will resistance rolls, so it doesn't seem like it.

Think of Deathtouch as an Innate Attack with the Melee limitation and the +300% Cosmic (Irresistible Attack) to ignore armor. Force Field doesn't protect against Deathtouch for the same reason it wouldn't affect such an Innate Attack. If you want Force Field to resist such an Innate Attack, you could add a +50% Cosmic (Ignores Irresistible Attack). Seems like the same should work find against Deathtouch, too.

Fair enough - I'm still hung up on the 'spells that rely on touch' line in Characters, though. What spells do you think were meant by that line, if not the spells with 'touch' in their very names?

Presumably the ones that do not explicitly mention bypassing armor.

*huff* "Like" does not mean "same as" :p ;)

Like I said, ask Kromm and then email Vicky to have the answer posted to the FAQ.

What if you got Area Effect Forcefield on your DR?

Makes it easier, since the mage only has to touch the Force Field which will conduct the Deathtouch onto you.
