This is a wonderful day. Seriously, the mailing lists are full of people saying things like "I'm going out to have an expensive diner to celebrate the new GURPS!". It's been 6 years...

Now I'll have a lot of work to do as a MiB :D

[GRUMBLE]There were the Japanese versions of Basic Set and Magic, but both are out of print now. And the other books -- High-Tech, Martial Arts, Powers, Psionic Powers, Ultra-Tech, whatever -- simply don't exist here in Japan. Sad.[/GRUMBLE]

Well, now I've played with the english version of GURPs for so long that I don't think I'll change to portuguese, there are just so many terms, sheets, house rules and unnoficial "sourcebooks" for me to translate...
But I'm being bitter, it IS a good new, as it will, hopefully, bring new players to the system.

Finally! We've been waiting for five years!

The long history of the Brazilian translation of Gurps and his delays is easily found in this forums, search for Devir and put your anti-flamewar suit.

Now it is over, we just need to wait, a month perhaps, and the waiting is already killing me.

If they do a PDF version I'll buy it, not sure they'd ship hard copies up to the US though I'd buy that first.

Long story, and one that I'd rather not see derailing this thread -- search for "devir" in this forum and it should give you an idea. The short version: Murphy happened.

now let me say something. (also, mind that I am a Brazilian).

I think its easier to teach english to the entire country...
...than having a good translation of Gurps Characters and Campaigns.

My friend got this new portuguese edition for free,
I can't wait to see how bad they translated it.
