Default Ordering Items

Is there a way to order items in lists?

Like, I want to order all the items under a parent in Advantages? Is there a way to select multiple items and re-order them?

Default Re: Ordering Items

Select the advantage you want to collect everything under, right-click on it, and choose "Make Parent."

Then select all of the items you'd like to organize under the advantage; click select, then shift+click will allow you to select several items in a row; ctrl+click will allow you to select multiple items one-by-one. Once they're all selected, right-click on one of them and select "Make child of..."

Each trait type has a _New Parent Item which is already set as a parent container when added to the character that other traits may be made a child of. Some container equipment (such as bags, backpacks, and jugs) are also already set as parent containers. I generally suggest using the _New Parent Item as a 0-point trait because point costs can look a little wonky if you use an existing trait to organize other traits under.

Not as simply as you'd like. You can control how GCA orders them, however.

By default, it doesn't order at all, so children are in the order added to the parent (which you can use to change the ordering, with a bit of work, by un-childing then re-childing in the desired order).

Also, in Program Options, there's a block for Child Item Options which allows you to specify some preferences for how you like to see your children organized, which may provide what you want. (Using these options overrides the order-added bit, so you can't use these and then try removing/adding to change the order.)

We're seeing two different interpretations of "ordering" here :D

Armin is talking about overriding the alphabetical sorting.
So instead of
Alpha
Beta
Charlie
Delta

you could have

Charlie
Alpha
Beta
Delta

Eric is talking about collecting things "inside" another thing, or building a thing out of other things. I use this feature to build metatraits on-the-fly.

Code:
Parent
 | Child 1
 | Child 2
   | Sub-Child
 | Child 3
