Well, now her sarcasm sounds horribly obvious.
Some games devolve into absurdities I'm not into. It seems to be an internet meme for D&D to epitomize such a lack of focus.

I'd personally use the Time Modifiers table from Thaumatology as a penalty. That incentivizes players to find a healer quickly. But it takes around a month for the arm to be unsalvageable.
