Default Vampires in GURPS Cabal

I am preparing a campaign using GURPS Cabal as background, set in the 70s. The PCs are human mages, with some occasional psychic, to begin with medium/low level, and to grow up in power as they battle the worst of the Cabal from within. But instead of GURPS Magic spells, I will use the Path/Book magic of GURPS Thamatology (which I find most appropriate for this background).
Vampires are just NPCs, but I have not very clear what variety of vampire would be most appropriate for this game: the template that appears in the Basic books? Any of the varieties of GURPS Horror? Or may I need to look at the 3 ed. GURPS Blood Types?

Depends on how you want to use them, mostly. To adhere the most closely to the source material, you'd need to use several different templates, because different specimens of the same "monster type" rarely play by the same rules in Cabalverse, but you can just pick or make up one that suits your purposes if you want to keep it simpler than that.

Here's one from another thread that I made up specifically for Cabal, if you're looking for something that's not in the books:

New vampires use this. They are greatly weakened but not incapacitated during the day. Decapitation inconveniences them, but the true seat of their consciousness is in the heart. Any supernatural powers that the creator has (most notably Dominance instead of Infectious Attack) which are weakened or do not appear here may be improved/gained with age starting after about 50 years but are not automatic.
