Real Life Car Wars
I ran across an article in the NYTimes about huge trucks being made into virtual tanks. It made me think immediately of Car Wars. I'm putting the link here, but please, don't mistake this as simple spamming. It's on topic.

Re: Real Life Car Wars
My thought exactly, in ADQ Volume 1 isssue 3 discuss this same topic. Mexican warlords welding armor plates to cars for protections from other gangs.

Re: Real Life Car Wars
I like:
the trucks will quite likely mutate to include “shielding for tires, their Achilles’ heel, blast pads in the flooring, up-armoring, et cetera.” [imagines self-mutating Cthulhu-Trucks, but I digress] In discussing these "1st gen" CarWars attempts, it was noted they forgot to armor the tire hubs or graft on wheelguards. The one they captured 2 or 3 months ago was mobility-killed by shooting out the tires! Any novice CW fan could have given them pointers on vehicle design. Luckily they didn't bother asking us.
