Re: [DF] Stating up Centaurs
I just had the funny mental image of a centaur ferrier trying to put his own shoes on.

Re: [DF] Stating up Centaurs
Just pointing out this topic has come up quite a few times before. One particularly relevant thread (that Kromm weighed in on) can be found here: http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread...hlight=centaur

Re: [DF] Stating up Centaurs
Has TPTB ever weighed in on why my mentioning the RAW trait weak arms is always ignored as if I were writing Etruscan?
That disadvantages seems purposely made for centaurs. Horses need shoes, because they bear loads in captivity far in excess of those in the wild. Centaurs come pre front loaded with such huge torsos. Those front hooves need something non-horse like to survive. "Realistically", they would probably evolved super thick front legs. But that detracts from their centaur-ness in my opinion.

Re: [DF] Stating up Centaurs
Because it's ridiculously priced.

Right now, I lean towards the partially limited ST, using NFM. I dont disagree that Centaurs need shoes, I just imagine the wear removable ones, not ones nailed to their feet.

Re: [DF] Stating up Centaurs
Horribly prices, but it's still the only RAW way to do it. So all the alternate builds should explicitly state that they are house rules.
Most other threads with house rules make it much more explicit than threads involving centaurs and a few others.

Re: [DF] Stating up Centaurs
Have you considered using the regular ST score for their human strength, giving them the HP from their full body mass, and Extra ST (Accessibility: Carrying On The Back Or Dragging Only, -20%) for the difference? (Guessing on the Accessibility price.)

Extra HP to equal a horse Lifting ST to equal a horse Striking ST(Single Attack Only: Kicking) up to the horse's ST That's how I'd do it.
