Armor modified for SM?
Are the rules for modifying armor for smaller/larger characters not in DFRPG? Or am I just missing them?

Re: Armor modified for SM?
No. There are only sm-1 and sm-2 races in DFRPG and they just have to wear full weight armor if they want armor at all.

Re: Armor modified for SM?
Nope. The reason Kromm gave during the Kickstarter was to make the game simpler.

Re: Armor modified for SM?
Something can have more than one reason. It's a lot more appealing to remove rules as part of 'simplification' if those rules happen to be broken and/or nonsensical.

It also presumes Kromm subscribes to your views on the pricing (or lack thereof) of SM. He’s said nothing that suggests he does.

Cool. That's kind of what I was thinking, but I wanted to make sure they weren't tucked away somewhere and I was missing it. Thank you.

Re: Armor modified for SM?
Why were recalculating weight every session? I'm running an SM +2 DF character and I haven't had to calculate anything since I brought her into play (of course I also haven't changed her equipment at all since then).

Re: Armor modified for SM?
Indeed. Setting aside the question of whether DFRPG should or shouldn't have adjusted armor weight for SM, the adjustment would be a one-time thing, no different from DFRPG's adjustments for quality or materials.
FWIW, I'm of the idea that DFRPG definitely should adjust armor weight for size, just because it makes sense... except that changing size/cost alone also makes it awfully easy to give every halfling DR 7+. Which may be nicely realistic (?), but turning every wee PC into a tank just feels odd, and I wouldn't blame DFRPG for intentionally wanting to avoid that effect. So why not just do as DF suggests, scaling weight/cost while also automatically reducing DR for scaled-down armor? Hmm... Maybe DFRPG does do that, in a simpler way. It reduces the weight and cost of halfling armor... but then tacks that cost and weight right back on, to counteract the automatic DR penalty. All without asking pesky questions about how the numbers should really work out. If that's the intent, it's arguably a nice sly way to keep things simple. : )
