It is something I considered - although, the most monsters any current booster has is seven (the three Santa boosters). For roughly the price of four of those, one could just buy another expansion (2-5). You'd get one less "pure" monster (28 in four Santa boosters vs 27 in one of the expansions), but you'd get a bigger variety of monsters (Santa boosters have mostly 6's and 12's) and would get more cards to mix in otherwise (another Cheat!, for example). If you picked up Need 4 Steed, you'd be able to throw in 10 *more* potential monsters, but with all those Steeds running around, it might greatly overpower the Centaur...

UncleBob where did you get all your promo cards? I've gotten a decent amount from W23 orders and eBay auctions, but I'm having trouble finding some of the others and eBay can be expensive.

Right now I'm missing Step-and-a-Half, Henchmonster, Go Up A Level (with the art from Go Up A Level), The Last Laugh, The Luggage, Cut in Line, and Conan Helps Out.

Pure dumb luck and some awesome folks. I'd gotten some from the W23 orders and more from buying (and a few trades) here.

There was an awesome folk who just sent me a free card... then, there was another really super awesome person who sent me virtually every promo card I needed but one (and they sent me the B&W version of it!). I've since then been able to trade one of my extra promos for the color version of that one (waiting for it to arrive in the mail) and then sent out one of my extra promos for free as a way of "paying it forward" for the kind folks who sent me freebies. :D

Once I get the one in the mail, I'll have all of the "color" promos - which is all but the three sacred cards. Dunno if I'm going to try to get those. They're cool, but the B&W cards just look so out of place and it's not like I'll *ever* likely get them signed anyway.

I've never felt that more monsters were needed for Fantasy. We have had some games where monsters came a little slower, but we've always had just as many where everyone seemed to get plenty of monsters. Just the other night while playing, we had a game where everyone seemed to have tons of monsters. We were playing Christmas Conan w/ Demented Dungeons, and somehow the Undead Dungeon and the Militant Monsters Dungeon were out at the same time almost the entire game. That coupled w/ sooo many Santa monsters meant lots and lots of losing combats.

My biggest problem with monsters would be in Super and a little of Star (not as much). Every time we've played Super the Munchkins have been so overpowered and obliterate the monsters. It'd be nice to have more monster enhancers for those but I know that's not cost effective to make them.

My advice to anyone who's finding one particular set too easy for the players: blend it with Apocalypse. You will NOT have that problem.

I can't be more specific than November. (And if you REALLY love your monsters, you'll want to pick up the Radioactive d6 set as well -- there's one in there that Steve and I are especially proud of.)

"The Beast" that's shown as a sample looks like alot of fun to trow on someone.

So blending with Apocalypse works well? I was wondering if the Seal mechanic made that problematic.
