Re: Voice - which actors have it?
I should add Russell Crowe, especially in Gladiator.
I also find Christian Bale's gravelly Batman voice hits the mark, but not so much his regular voice- perhaps there's some computer enhancement behind it. |

Re: Voice - which actors have it?
I'm a really bad B-movie level actor myself, and I especially pride myself on my voice work, so an emphatic thank you for this thread!
In no particular order, and trying not to include those already mentioned. Ron Perlman Robin Williams Sam Elliot Ving Rhames Laurence Olivier Johnny Cash (he acted a couple of times and you cannot deny that voice!) Michael Dorn Kevin Conroy (the animated Batman) Val Kilmer Michael Clarke Duncan Jeff Goldblum Will Smith James Mason Max von Sydow Jack Palance Kathleen Turner (Jessica freaking Rabbit!) Meg Tilly (odd voice, but it stands out. Might be "Disturbing Voice" to some people..) Angela Lansbury (half of Murder She Wrote was her voice over work explaining what happened) Katherine Hepburn And then I have these 3 gents in a tie: Samuel L. Jackson Patrick Warburton (Brock Sampson/Joe on Family Guy) Vincent Price (again, possibly "Disturbing Voice" but powerful) I could do this all night. I'm a voice fanatic. I also do different voices for my players, they can recognize characters by the voice, it's quite a kick for me. |

Re: Voice - which actors have it?
Two more! Bruce Campbell and Tom Waits!!!
Waits may be better known as a singer, but he's been in a few movies. Definitely in the "Disturbing Voice" column. |

Re: Voice - which actors have it?
Danny Elfman, that guy could be a professional singer and STILL make a crapload of money instead of just soundtracks and the occassional song. He was on Big Trouble in Little China I think with John Carpenter, Wanted, and of course Nightmare before Christmas as *the* Pumpkin King. Yep, Danny Elfman, he just has one of those voices.

Re: Voice - which actors have it?
Patrick Stewart; I loved that he did the voice of the Emperor in Oblivion.
If he were still alive, one of my top picks would be Mako. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mako_(actor) I think he's an excellent example of voice because he speaks with an accent, yet the voice still comes through. James Earl Jones is a great example. I think Christian Bale's Batman voice would actually qualify as the disturbing voice disadvantage. IIRC, I think he came up with that voice after talking to the guy who does Batman's voice in the animated series. |

Stephen Fry.
...Although how much of that's Voice and how much of it's Charisma is probably debatable. |
