I like playing my crew with "personalities" and "attitudes", a little roleplaying in my car wars games. And yes, "total lunatic" described the crew, and they went for several early rams, and basically, can't say it worked out really well for them :D.

I got lucky on some damage cards, so it wasn't a total deal-breaker, but I would have probably been better to skip the ramming, or at least most of it.

Now if I had some Flame Jets mounted.....

That is how it played out back'n'th'day -- to paraphrase a line from _The Beast_: "Out of ammo, become a missile." :)

It wasn't really a problem, as we had firepower commensurate with the armor....
