Default Map I made using the HISG Boards....

Ok, this is a map some of my friends and I made using the Halo Interactive Strategy Board game board pieces.

I really like the placement of the board pieces. And I think we did a decent job with placement of the spawn points, power ups and teleporters. But since I only recently learned how to play Frag (basically when Gold came out) and they all learned how to play from me, I would like the opinion of some more experienced Frag players. What do you guys think of the over all map design? the board pieces placement? the power up/spawn point/teleporter placement?

I know we had fun playing on this map, but is there any suggestions on how to make it better?

Oh, and the empty spaces in the middle of the board, are acid pits or lava pits or whatever other dangerous area you want them to be.

Great work! What do the fences represent on your board, solid walls? Or do they just block movement?

Cool map, I've gotta see about getting a copy of HISBG.

Thank you both. We put a lot of thought into this map, it took nearly an hour of setting up before we were ready to play.

The fences are solid walls.

This map was made using pieces from three sets of HISBG. But the game is cheap enough at Best Buy, $11.99, that buying a couple copies won't break the bank. And yes, with out having three copies of the game we would not have been able to make this map.

So, does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this map better? We only got the chance to play one game on it, so it didn't get playtested very much.

The one thing I noticed is that it's basically just a big square - 'round and 'round you go....

How about a section where you have to zig-zag to proceed?

Code:
--------------------------
    --------------------------
--------------------------
    --------------------------
Maybe with obstacles to hide behind in the middle, or maybe not. Also possibly with power-ups of various kinds in the middle of the long runs.

And there needs to be a reason to go there, of course - a nice pile of power-ups, or a re-spawn point.

Just a thought.

I'm working on this, when I get something I like I will post it for further suggestions.
