Seriously - if anyone out there knows of Ogre fans that are not subscribed, please drag them to a computer and fix this glaring lack of foresight ASAP. I want to keep everyone in the loop, but with the SJG forums, BGG forums, a half-dozen Kickstarter feeds, etc. there are too many options. Ogre News is the definitive source for Ogre Updates.

Maybe don't update all of the previous Kickstarters? Seriously, aside from Designer's Edition (since there are still a couple of outstanding stretch goals), once the product is delivered just drop a final update with a link to Ogre News.

The team has reviewed the numbers and we are comfortable with stating that we're ordering about twice as many playmats as we expected.

Once we ship all of the playmats, and once we review the financials, then we will decide if/when to produce the second playmat design.

The experiment is definitely performing better than I, personally, had hoped. So, everyone, thanks for that! It's nice when trying something new works out.

I’m only a casual ogre fan although I owned a copy back in the seventies. I did not know about ogre news. I signed up but not happy having to create a gmail account(I now have 4 email accounts). Oh well, look into auto forwarding.

That's enough for me. I suppose the next thing to be seen will be how many new mats will the fanbase support, and how often to produce them if you determine they are financially feasible for future runs.

and Additionally would a playmat's size change to accommodate related scenarios. It seems like new mats could ship in the future with at least one tested scenario

I don't know if it's feasible to go smaller, but I think I saw somewhere that 24x24 is a hard upper limit because of production costs.

Other sizes are possible, depending upon the support. For now, 24"x24" is the size we're working with, for a variety of reasons. But as you've already demonstrated, success drives opportunity. We're exploring lots of options and who knows where we may end up down the road?
