Default Re: [Martial Arts] Berserkergang

Okay, New version of the Berserker Trance Technique:

Quote:
Berserker Trance Hard

Default: Autohypnosis -6
Prerequisite: Autohypnosis, cannot exceed prerequisite skill.

After concentrating for 20 -Skill seconds, roll against this technique to enter a Berserker Trance.

While in this trance, Berserkers gain the following benefits: They don't experience shock penalties from wounds in combat (as if they had High Pain Threshold), they receive a +5 bonus to rolls to resist pain, fear, and intimidation, and a +3 bonus to resist knockdown, unconsciousness, and all mind control effects.

However, Berserkers also experience an inability to focus on any non-combat related task and lapses in judgement and self-control. While in a Berserk Trance, berserkers have a -2 penalty to all IQ based skill rolls (except Intimidation), and IQ rolls to activate advantages (such as Common Sense, Empathy, and Intuition). Additionally, Berserkers gain On The Edge (12 or less) while Berserking, berserkers who already have this disadvantage will their self-control rating reduced by one step while berserking. If a berserker has any of Bad Temper, Berserk, Bloodlust, Impulsiveness, or Overconfidence those self-control ratings will also be reduced by one step. If he does not have those disadvantages, the GM may ask the berserker to roleplay as though he has the quirk versions of some or all of them while in this trance.

It is possible to roll against Autohypnosis to use it's "Negate Pain/Fatigue" function without leaving your Berserker Trance, but other uses are off limits.

It is common in cinematic campaigns for certain advantages to be purchased with the limitation Only while in Berserk Trance (-10%). Note that if Trained by a Master is purchased with this disadvantage, all chi skills are also only available while in a Berserk Trance.
What do you think? Better, worse? More balanced?

Personally I prefer the concept of Battle Fever. Where the person goin into an altered stated that dose have High Pain Threshold, but this isn't a Blind Rage which results in lower IQ or All out Attacks. But a hyper focus on the Attack and Parry 'dance' of the Battle. You're still aware of Friend vs Foe (Though of a friend Mistakenly attack you you are likely to counter attack on reflex) can still follow orders. And ignore any wounds you receive more as not realizing they hit rather not caring if you are hit

But after the fight have no memories of the battle, and possible Post Combat Shakes as your body comes down from an adreline high and your consciousness reintegrates with your body.

The probably some limited fear immunity during the battle fever, but more due to aphobia than fearlessness.
