Re: The Collaborative Gamer: GURPS Content Posts
Since Thursday is GURPSday, I made an extra post today on The Collaborative Gamer.
This time, I've posted my system of tables for running journeys in GURPS Fantasy/Dungeon Fantasy. It's kind of my own riff on Dungeon Fantasy 16: Wilderness Adventures (which I highly recommend, by the way!) Happy GURPSday to all, and to all a good night!

I went ahead and programmed all but the racial portion of your world generator in javascript. Do you mind if I put it up on my site and link to you? or do you want the code?

Re: The Collaborative Gamer: GURPS Content Posts
Another new "Thursday is GURPSday" post on The Collaborative Gamer.
This week: a big system of tables for creating random dungeons. It's specifically designed for GURPS Fantasy and GURPS Dungeon Fantasy. Check it out, if you're interested in that sort of thing!

Re: The Collaborative Gamer: GURPS Content Posts
This Thursday is our biggest GURPS Day yet! (And the crowd goes wild!)
My contribution: I've just posted a set of tables (a simple little system, really) for generating dungeon traps, environmental dangers, magical wards, and similar. Like most of the things on my site so far, it's designed for Fantasy or DF. I'll be interested to see what others make of it. I'm particularly interested to hear what others make of my four-part categorization of non-monster threats into Obstacles, Hazards, Wards and Traps.

Re: The Collaborative Gamer: GURPS Content Posts
It's Thursday again, which means it's GURPS Day!
This GURPS Day I'm launching a new series of posts. Step by step, I'm going to walk through the creation of a new fantasy world from scratch - all the way from a blank sheet of paper to a fully-fleshed-out setting, maps and all, ready for GURPS characters to step into. Partly I'm doing this just to have fun. I'm also trying to offer an extended example of how my system of tables for creating fantasy worlds works. I've put 3 posts up there today, just to get the ball rolling, and I'll be adding more over the days to come. Feel free to check it out if it sounds like the kind of thing that interests you!

In all honesty, having just spent a great deal of time rolling up this new fantasy world, creating and posting snapshots of the map at various stages of world development, and then composing descriptive posts about t, I'm not sure "quick" is quite the word I'd use! Fun, yes - but quick, I'm not so sure. (Though obviously the world creation system is a lot quicker if you're not also composing a new blog post every step of the way...) Anyway, glad to hear you like it - and thanks for the feedback! It's much appreciated.

Re: The Collaborative Gamer: GURPS Content Posts
I've been a bit slow at updating this thread.
Anyway, my "Creating a Fantasy World" series of posts is now up to Stage 6 - with Stage 7 very soon to come. If you think you'd have fun watching the step-by-step creation of a fantasy world for GURPS (using a procedural system), then feel free to check it out!

Re: The Collaborative Gamer: GURPS Content Posts
A bunch of new posts! And it's not even GURPSday!
Stage 7 of my Example of World Creation series is now up. The world map has now expanded to its maximum size! From here on in, all the posts in this series will be fleshing it out and adding crucial detail - like which fantasy species live where. I've also posted a huge array of tables for naming fantasy locations. There really are a lot of tables there, with all sorts of fantasy-flavored namey goodness - names for Kingdoms, Realms, Towns, Swamps, Rivers, Mountain ranges.... you name it! (See what I did there? God, that was clever) Anyway, check it out, if that sort of thing interests you. In upcoming posts, I'm going to be using those name tables to generate names for the various locations on the world map in my Example of World Creation series. That should be great fun!
