Default Pirate munchkin question

Player 1 has Cat-O-Nine Tails in play. Player 1 plays Dogfish on Looking for Trouble while they are level 9. Player 2 plays Not So Fast, Mr. Bucko!

Exact wording on cards:

Mod reminder: Please don't quote card text directly.

The debate is if Not So Fast, Mr Bucko! even gets a chance to be played since the Dogfish is "Automatically" killed, and Not So Fast, Mr Bucko! specifically says "after". That's the debate the table had.

Any idea?

Default Re: Pirate munchkin question

Very, very few cards in the Munchkin games actually erase a previous card play from existence as though it had never happened . . . but Not So Fast, Me Bucko! is one of them, both because it uses the phrase "play immediately" and because it says it actually cancels the card that was played. Playing it immediately after the Dogfish makes the Dogfish never happen.
