Which Expansions to Get?
Been playing the original fantasy munchkin with 4-6 people for about a month now and 3 of us have decided to get some expansions.
We were thinking for now we will just stick to fantasy and possibly getting 2, 6, and 8. Will these go good together or should we just get 2, 3, and 4? |

Re: Which Expansions to Get?
They work best when bought in order, but if you want to buy out of order it won't be game breaking. 3 introduces Gnomes (Race) and Bards (Class), 4 introduces Steeds and gives a ton of hirelings, and 5 introduces Rangers (Class). It's completely up to you. I bought my a little out of order and saw no ill effects, granted I only played about 2 games before buying the rest of them.

Re: Which Expansions to Get?
As I always feel compelled to say at this point, it harms nothing to buy Munchkin 6 out of order, and if you want a little change-up in how your Munchkin games play, that's a decent place to start.
Munchkin 5 and 8 will work better if you have Munchkin 4 first (because it has more Steeds), but that's not strictly required; we tried to make sure that each expansion did not totally rely on owning the previous ones. One thing to be careful of: expansions that introduce new Classes and Races (C/R) include enough of those cards to match the number of cards for the already-existing C/R, and expansions usually add at least one more of those. If you're buying a later expansion, you may end up with an excess of the new C/R compared to the older ones, and you may want to thin out those cards a bit.

Re: Which Expansions to Get?
Thank you much for the insight! Still can't decide how we want to go about buying them. Probably do 2+3 and then get 6. The dungeons sound like they will be a lot of fun. Really love the game can't wait to play more.
