Default Desperately Seeking Help

I have a game I am starting next week, I have always used GCA for all

our games and my players are finalizing their characters. In reviewing them I

have noticed a glitch in my GCA. Everything works fine except any skill I enter

appears with no Relative level, level: 0 and 0 point cost. unless it is a brand

new character in which case it works properly until I save and load it and try to

add a new skill but the relative level looks odd. For example it will say "IQ/2+4"

instead of IQ-1.

I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled and updated GCA4 twice now

and am having the same issue. I made an account on the forums just now

seeking help. Please, any ideas?

It look like you have the Half-Stat Default alternate ruleset enabled.
Tools -> Options -> Data Sets (tab)

Edit : also, from the FAQ :

there is a file in the GCA install folder called gca.ini which saves all the Program Options you've set for GCA. If this file becomes corrupted, either as a result of running the Program Patch or due to random operating system errors, it can cause program crashes or lockups. Deleting this file will reset GCA to the default Options, but will often times solve seemingly random program problems. This file is *NOT* deleted when you uninstall GCA - you have to delete the file to actually remove it.
To automatically delete the file (along with sheetoptions.ini, which saves your Character Sheet preferences) you can run the GCAClearAppData.exe which is normally located in your GCA install folder:
C:\program files\GURPS Character Assistant 4\GCAClearAppData.exe
In 64-bit Windows (7 or Vista) it should be located here:
C:\program files (x86)\GURPS Character Assistant 4\GCAClearAppData.exe

As Celjabba says, it looks like you're loading a variant file, and I'm guessing it's this one: Pyramid 3-65 - Half-Stat Defaults.gdf.

You have to be very careful about the files that you load, because many of them implement alternate rules that can really mess things up!
