Default Ogre Playmat M2?

Considering that the first playmat has sod well, I trust there will likely be more offerings in the future.

Here's a thought, if the next mat is designed with an eye towards flexibility, it could be printed in two versions. If the two are reversed images of the same design, that would give a lot of geomorphic fliexibility in lining them up in different patterns.

I can easily live with the little rounded scallops at the joining corners.

I have as feeling that printing 2 versions will be cost prohibitive, as each version has its own costs. However, you made me think of a better option. The north and south sides are the ones that seem to be best for geomorphing, as they seem like the ones that give the closest to even hex sizes at the edge. So how about making one side of M2 so that it geomorphs with the top (or bottom) of M1, and make the other side of M2 geomorph with itself. Yes, it may not line up perfectly, but it would allow 2 M2 playmats to be linked up relatively easily like Cat is requesting, and you could even add 2 M1 playmats on either side of that if you like to get a single long strip.

Not that I know what the plans for M2 are, so who knows how crazy an idea that is, but there you go :)

Any flexible modularosity is a good plan!

There is not enough demand for us to print two different versions at once (following the Warehouse 23 preorder model we used for the first mat).

The mats seem to be a different animal. They represent a potentially good way to standardize some relatively small games, somewhat like the Orange map.

At some point, the mats could be reissued in less-expensive versions (like paper or card stock) to support tournaments or introductions to the game.

Don't know if that is the long-term plan, but it lines up neatly that way.

Personally I'd rather see the mat combined with some scenarios. Something beyond ODE standard. The mat could be created and while waiting for the delivery a scenario promotion could be run to be sent out to mat purchasers as a PDF. With enough of these for future and current mats the could be combined into the next Ogre Book.

Will there be WH23 preorders after or during?

Will you have to send a Mk.VI over to my house after telling me?

There are no plans to run a separate Kickstarter for just the playmat.

If there are any excess playmats after the Kickstarter is fulfilled, they will be offered on Warehouse 23. There are no Warehouse 23 preorders for Ogre Playmat M2 at this time. There will be a BackerKit survey stage, so I am sure we'll offer preorders then.

Pledged at the $28 level, as I want to make sure I don't forget to order my mat this time.
