Fire and lowtech questions.

As others have said, low-tech fire is unlikely to inflict an immediately fatal wound in a few seconds like a club or a stone arrow can. On the other hand, it is terrifying, and inflicts wounds which are hard to heal even with 20th-century medicine. Don't forget the rules for Setting Things on Fire! And Fright Checks may be in order, and prevent the burning character from doing something sensible like stopping, dropping, and rolling.

Actually, we don't really. Ordinary levels of smoke are mostly long term toxic, and thus kill you after you've already procreated.

They affect pregnancy, infants, infant mortality and childhood development, all of which is selective.
