Road tape
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GZ8UE2K..._C5WNFb0D5SSYA
I was searching for something else on Amazon and ran across masking tape designed to look like a road and immediately though “Car Wars 6ed”. If the link doesn’t work for you, it’s basically black masking tape with white dividing lines to drive toy cars on. 30 feet per roll is a massive amount of road you could lay down very quick. It might be a bit narrow for the correct scale for a 6ed car mini (it sounds like the minis are more than 1” wide while the tape is 2” wide) but honestly, do you expect to ride within the lines an entire game? I could see laying down strips side by side for a 4” wide road, which might make it closer to scale. I’m new to the Car Wars scene (but quickly backed the new edition) so someone else may have used it before for earlier editions. It seems like it could be a compact solution for a quick play area laid out directly on a table or floor. I will still look forward to the road tiles and arenas though. |

Re: Road tape
[sigh] Pity this sort of thing didn't exist back in the '80s.

Re: Road tape
We tried -- it kept tearing. We needed something a bit more sturdy; but getting road sections printed on _CW_-cardstock was an endeavor back then (one had to go to a specialist printer).
