The long-awaited moment has come, the Riddle of Steel move towards the culmination point of their quest. They brought down the beast of the cave, and now they advance to beat the shadow out of time... turning themselves, step by step, into the haunters of the dark.

Infiltration complete, let's proceed with caution; if light conditions are bad, bring your torches.

Hey Telrith, I am glad we managed to meet before our arrival to The Caves. I guess it to have one of the elementals fetch a torch; we will light it when the situation demands it.

With the guard bear dead, the adventurers continue past to what looks like an old guard station, a square room, stripped bare and with all its furniture smashed into splinters. No light is here except for what the party provides for themselves.

A passage at the back of the room leads deeper into the cave and then stairs downward.

From the base of the stairs, you can see a chamber opening up off of the tunnel ahead and also a tunnel running off at an oblique angle to your right. Reflected light on the tunnel wall shows the room ahead is lit. The tunnel to the right is dark, but an opening in the left side in the distance is dimly illuminated by a flickering light.

The scouts out in front hear something moving in the dark corridor.

Gathika tells Telrith and his elementals to stay back, she casts dispel magic (14) to deactivate magical traps and the like...

As the light starts to fill the place, Bain takes cover and camouflages himself. He is looking in the direction of the noise… ready to attack.
