This is about GURPS and every other game book I've ever read:

I take a look through Pyramid 3/60 and offer comments:

My latest Dungeon Fantasy game session summary is up.

Meteoric iron sling bullets are really useful.

A year in DF gaming.

Short version: We played more this year than in the whole game prior, added another player, and found that the more power DF guys have the more fun we're having.

You wrote about liking Borderlands 2 but not buying the DLC. If you at all have a chance do check out the Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep DLC. It's basically a love letter to DF style PnP RPG's. Same good voice acting and story, just don't wonder why the loot you get in Tina's game works in the rest of Pandora!

I might, but the DLC pretty much cost too much when I'm still getting a lot of fun out of the $10 I spent back in July. :)

Peter, I was just wondering here... Do you allow templates build in the DF 15 way?

For example, a Apprentice+Eldritch Initiate (from Pyramid #3/60)?

Another question: I saw that there's a character with more than 400 points, yet starting characters are made with 250. That sounds to make the party kind of unbalanced. Am I right?

No one has asked yet, but I'd allow it. Not that specific example, though, since I'm not using Imbuements.

Not even a little bit, honestly. Last game the 250 point guy was the MVP, and the 401 point guy was needed to win the fight. It's never been an issue. The sheer power of the high-point guys brings on a lot of chuckles, but it's never made the weaker guys less important. A 250 point delver is very powerful, and very, very useful even if the power level doesn't let them "keep up" on paper.

Chuck Morris experienced the same - he's a Martial Artist designed for front-line fighting. He lagged the high-point Knight, but he was a good fighter from day one and now they really miss him when he's not there for a fight. The amusing part was that he'd accumulated points for a lot of sessions before he spent many - he was 251 points (he added a perk) for a long time and yet stood toe-to-toe with stuff that challenged the party.
