Well when I was a younging you could get a papyrus scroll for a handful of hickory nuts, and the clay tablets with the cuniform writing you got from the biblotecha would last *forever*...

Yeah, but they didn't have nearly the durability of the cave paintings. Now there was an archival medium.

Yes, my mother claimed that all of these newfangled papyrus sheets and clay tablets had nothing on the cave paintings.
