Default What is a Taleryu?

In the freelance traveller article "props" (prep room) an Aslan "taleryu" is described. From description it sounds like a greatsword or a naginata. Can anyone tell any other information?

A description from an excerpt from a (fictional) catalog:

Quote:
Aslan two-handed processional taleryu, Aslan 12th century (c.-1000 Imperial) with rectangular ricasso formed with a pair of lugs, plassteel hilt of flattened bars, inner and outer ring-guards each decorated with scale ornament. Reierekh (Dark Nebula 2438).
135.6cm blade
ESTIMATE: Cr20,000-30,000

Another Aslan glossary describes it as "a very sharp, crescent-shaped sword ("meatcleaver")"

Alien Module 1 describes it as "a crescent-shaped blade". The notion of curvature seems common, and I didn't see a reference to a haft or pole. So probably more like a scimitar or tulwar than a greatsword (though there are two-handed versions of those curved blades) or a naginata or glaive.

The quote in Freelance Traveller is where I got it from. But the glossary defines it.
