Wait! The Game can detect demons?
I was just reading through the rules. A Gamester can detect his related Band on a Perception roll? A (exceedingly rare) Gamester with all the Band attunements can detect ALL demons?
Am I alone in missing this? Whoa! Even worse, Sense of Betrayal essentially is a Celestial Detection device, as long as they have even a hint of Dissonance. (What? You don't?) |

Re: Wait! The Game can detect demons?
Yes, Servitors of the Game can detect demons (of their own Band, or of any Band they have the attunement for). Some can detect dissonance in any celestial.
But does Asmodeus seem like the kind of Prince who would take a liking to any Servitor enough to give them EVERY Band attunement? |

Re: Wait! The Game can detect demons?
Page 3 of Superiors: Asmodeus: "A Servitor with more than one Band Attunement rolls only once and knows which Band he has detected." So it is part of the attunement, and it can be acquired for multiple Bands.

Does this seem incredibly powerful to anyone else?

Re: Wait! The Game can detect demons?
This is one of the reasons I typically don't allow Gamesters in my campaigns. For a crafty player, it can throw a wrench in the game almost as much as a Kyrio of Destiny with the Yves's Seraph Attunement.

Oh, I see. I don't have that one, I was going on what it says in the main book.

A more important function then finding an angel who is willing to slum as a demon, is to find out where the demons are.

Thus, Gamester's abilities to recognize demons is limited by their institutional culture. Few demons go to a Gamester asking "Can you tell me if this guy is a demon?", because then a) you've drawn the attention of the Game to yourself, and b) you now owe The Game a favor. Neither are good circumstances. |
