For very small values of "some", for very brief periods of time. It leaks really dang quickly. He said "Carry" not "scoop up or splash".

Dunno how much variation you can get at the point-of-effect with basic TK, but it should not be much. AE is the way to get effective size up to the size of the area.

Of related interest to those following: Telekinetic Gunslinger, especially Kromm's posts regarding AE and TK.

The remarks about 'infinite hands in AE' in that thread make me wonder how area of effect interacts with liquid telekinesis. If basic telekinesis will let you 'scoop or splash' liquids about clumsily, will area effect let you scoop or splash a lot of liquids about clumsily?

Either way, easier to just get the hydrokinesis perk. Thanks for point that out, Bruno. I do have that book so I looked it up.

Yes, with AE you get to use multiple hands to carry a lot of liquids about clumsily. Or just use one GIANT pair of hands covering the multiple hexes (as I think was stated earlier).

I just had this question come up with the TK using Psi. I allow him to manipulate and shape water (or other liquids), but he'll need a skill roll vs artist (sculpting) to effectively shape it (and keep it) into a wall, bucket, sphere, etc. Otherwise if he's carrying it via his TK "hands" the water leaks 1hex / min with successful DX check.

Whoops! I somehow skipped right over your post when reading. I don't even recall seeing it in the past. I'm very embarrassed now, my apologies.

Such things would usually be the province of Control (Water), though Area Effect TK might be able to make (clumsy) approximations of simple uses of Control.

No worries! :)

I totally agree we used it that way in a previous game, wanna make sculptures? You probably need Control, want to do clumsy shapes? TK w/AoE + Hydrokinesis should work.

On a related note, acid lobbed this way is a great way to cause all sorts of mayhem.
