Re: Traveller Nobles
I am curious what it means as it describes life in the "Imperial Palace." The reason I am asking so many questions is I have a general GURPs space setting, but want to have a nobility and such. It is not specifically Travellers though, so I like general information that I can transfer. I already have ALOT of knowledge about noble titles, lifestyles, and such. But ideas are always fun.

Guess I will just order it, and hope for the best. Laugh out loud.

Re: Traveller Nobles
I've been pouring through my copy; it even bumped GURPS 4e down my reading queue.
I love it--it is the best look inside the way the Imperial Government is put together and functions. Heck-it even lays out what the Cabinet is composed of (or at least most of it). |

Re: Traveller Nobles
Question:
Is the Imperial Palace still the big hovering sphere from the old TRAVELLER DIGEST or is that now different? I notice there is not actual discussion of what the Imperial Palace actually looks like. |

Re: Traveller Nobles
Another question: How useful would this book be for, say, Fading Suns? After all, FS also has a high-tech nobility...

CAMPAIGNS - Backgrounds - Noble in the Campaign - Adventures INDEX Happy now ? A *really* good GT supplement. On my top 3 list, with "Far Trader" and "Sworld Worlds" (I haven't finished "Starships" yet). Like these two other supplements, "Nobles" brings answers to questions that I have been asking myself (and others;-) since I have first heard of Traveller (in the late 80's). The presentation is clear, illustrations are fair (I don't like the cover, but it is still better than "Sword Worlds"'s ;-), a great index, as always, and content is well organised (except for "Planetary Orders of Knightood") and *very* interesting. Of course, the roles of nobility and various administrations in running the Imperium are explained/outlined, but you also find details about lifestyle of the (not so) rich and famous, how prominent/pervasive you can make them and how it may affect your campaign, as well as some starships and adventure seeds. All in all a well rounded supplement. Now, for my part, I would have preferred to have still more content about the Imperium organisation and structures, as well as some details about Imperial law, instead of, for example, details about luxuries. Not that anything is lacking, just a personal preference. |

Re: Traveller Nobles
Like Jurgen above, I sort of want to use the information in another GURPs setting, a customized space campaign. How useful do you think it would be?I have already read about nobility, and customs etc. Does it contain a lot of unique ideas? Intrigue and such? From my impression about the Imperial Palace, it highlights the webs of intrigue at the Imperial Palace...
