(Spaceships) Generation Megaship
Minddoodling bits of a backstory I hadn't bothered much with details for:
Basic generation ship, insanely low-thrust spinning cylinder. How big would the diameter be for clouds 2/3rd way to the "sun" in the world-sim habitation zone?

Re: (Spaceships) Generation Megaship
With a controlled environment, you can probably have clouds just about anywhere by adjusting the parameters (note on Earth you can even have clouds at sea level - we call them "fog"). If the synthetic sun is actually the source of heat, however, you can probably only have clouds realistically forming very close to the ground - if they form high in the sky, the heat that reaches the ground is probably too little to support life. Artificial sunrise and sunset probably aren't a thing in such a vessel, as the "sun" would need to be in the center of the cylinder. Instead, you'd have the "sun" gradually increase in intensity, stay at maximum intensity for a given amount of time, then gradually decrease in intensity, to simulate the day-night cycle.
