GURPS Bestiary - 4th ed.
Why is there no bestiary for fourth edition? What's the rationale behind this? Someone please tell me.

The rationale, I believe, is that they haven't good a sufficiently good offer. I'm fairly certain Kromm has stated as much on his blog.

Re: GURPS Bestiary - 4th ed.
The short version of what we've been told is that they never found an author.
In more detail: What gets published depends on SJ Games finding qualified authors who want to write things the company wants to (or can be convinced to) publish. They had a bestiary on their wish list for...well, basically as long as they've had a wish list. However, while it was out there, they never got a proposal for it which met their expectations. Last time it came up, there was some mention of the company considering alternatives to the usual public call for proposals, which is what the wish list represents.

Re: GURPS Bestiary - 4th ed.
I think there were rumours that something like a Bestiary is in development...?! well, we'll see...
Anyway there is still a lot of material spread over several sourcebook and of course the great community stuff. |
