Default OGRE: The Giant Designer’s Edition

I just made a photo blog post of the massive OGRE: Designer’s Edition.

Didn't follow the KS closely at the time, so I had no idea how big the set was. Holy cow.

Yeah, I got the canvas carry bag extra with mine just so I could move it around more easily.
It also came with a large 'Team Lift for safety' warning document suggestion that two people should work together to pick it up.

Haha I believe it. My wife and I were team-lifting it, moving the set around. Gotta be careful with my back these days.

I recall several purchasers of ODE smirking about how far their letter carriers had to lug that mighty box and several other gamers were considering using the game as an end table when not playing ...

And one fellow did incorporate the box into an actual end table.

Given the size of the box, I think you would be going from "end" table more towards "card" table at that point. I've seen small cafe tables that would be about the right dimensions.

Heh. Someone posted a pic (I think at BGG) showing their cat in the box. Mind you, I believe this was a Maine Coon cat. Those of you who own one know just how huge they tend to be.

That could have made for some good marketing: "Box only suitable for Maine Coon and other oversized breeds."
