Default Side Quests timing

The rules say “You must reveal a Side Quest as soon as you have completed its goal to receive the reward.”

I think there is a question of timing? If I draw a Side Quest like “Power Lifter” that just requires me to have items, do I get its reward immediately when I draw the Side Quest because I ALREADY have the items? But for a Side Quest like “Overkill” do I have to have the combat AFTER drawing the card? Or does a prior combat count?

Obviously there no way to track something that happened before, which is the reason for the rule. So for things you DO they would have to happen AFTER Drawing the Side Quest.

Default Re: Side Quests timing

If a Side Quest depends on a specific event - losing three levels, for instance - you can't claim it retroactively; you have to have that Side Quest when the event happens.

However, if a Side Quest depends on game state - being "full up" on Items, for instance - and you fulfill the conditions of that Side Quest when you draw it, you may claim it immediately.

Does that clarify things?
