Default [rules] [basic] Injury Tolerance (Unliving) and hit locations

What happens when a character with Injury Tolerance (Unliving) is hit in the vitals?

I note that IT (Diffuse) "includes all the benefits of No Blood, No Brain, and No Vitals" (p. B60) while IT (Unliving) does not mention any of these things.

p. B380 gives reduced wounding modifiers for various attacks.

So if I shoot an IT (Unliving) creature with a Large Piercing attack in the vitals, is the wounding modifier:
  • ×½ (because it's an LP attack against IT (UL), i.e. the IT does include No Vitals)
  • ×3 (because it's a Piercing attack to the Vitals)
  • ×1½ (both of these at once)
  • something else?

x3. GURPS Zombies covers it in more detail, with a table for that sort of thing. It made the ruling fairly unambiguous.

Before then I was interpreting it as x1.5 (both at once).

Thanks! (For anyone who wants to verify, p.110 has the table.)
