Rainbow Bay at 3X Scale
I've been working on this one awhile and keeping it under wraps because I wasn't sure if I was going to get it done or not. It is together enough to show though (as it is nearly comlete). At this point I have only a few odds and ends left to do.
http://s1356.photobucket.com/user/Ma...?sort=3&page=1 It is the Rainbow Bay Blast Furnace from the Arena Book built at triple scale. Complete with mirrors for the walls. I will be bringing this to Dragonflight this weekend for use in several Car Wars games. I've got more photos from when I was building this (and can provide more details as to how I did it too), but I want to organize that a bit better first. And yes, I'll be taking pictures at Dragonflight too.

Re: Rainbow Bay at 3X Scale
Yeah, the turn keys don't fit - I have to use some thin pieces with just the angles and marked sticks for movement.

Re: Rainbow Bay at 3X Scale
That is neat. I'm jealous. And disappointed that I can't get to Dragonflight. Maybe you can bring the arena to the Midwest. poke poke :>)

Re: Rainbow Bay at 3X Scale
It looks great!
One thing that might assist during game play, either a mod to the existing incarnation or something to add to the design of the next evolution: Have the boxes be removable and easily replaceable with paired dowels on the bottoms of each box mated to the surface. The mirrors is an awesome implementation. Well done! Drive offensively. Curt |

Re: Rainbow Bay at 3X Scale
I just added a few more pictures with one of the items I still had to finish when I took the earlier ones - the jets of flame are ready now. I suspect that everyone was wondering what the silvery bits on top of the bunkers were for. Now you know.
I've also got some printed out banners for various CW companies (borrowed from ADQ 'ads') that I'm still trying to decide where to hang. I'm leaning towards right along the top of the mirrors with some bluetack. If anyone has graphics that they've made up for their own CW universe companies that they'd like me to add to the advertising banners, drop me a PM. Quote:
The Midwest is a bit far for me unfortunately, at least for this year. PAX Prime at the end of the month might be doable though. I'm not sure if SJG is interested, but I'd be open to running a few events there with the arena to help promote the rerelease of Car Wars Classic, assuming that they have the space for it (the arena measures 5' x 5' and is somewhat heavy).

Re: Rainbow Bay at 3X Scale
As promised, Pictures from Dragonflight 2014. Michael has more pictures (I was fairly busy running things, so he took more than I did). A write up of the final is being worked on.
