The Lazy Spring
I like The Deadly Spring (Pyr#3-33. Author: Douglas H Cole) but I also like to take the simple route.
Has anyone put the formulae into a program? For example, to give the stats of a bow (and arrow/bolt), given TL# and ST##, with option for lowest cost, best range or highest damage, leaving the code to decide the secondary numbers.** I'd do it but first I'd need to re-learn how to program* and I'd rather spend the time grinding the numbers in a spreadsheet, although, that's a Lot of grinding:) *my Basic from 30yrs ago at best allows an improved default. **it'd also need an option to limit materials.

Re: The Lazy Spring
The spreadsheet is the closest to that I've seen. If you're using Excel, have you tried using the Analysis toolpack? There's some useful little functions in there. I don't think it'll cope with swapping out materials for you, but frankly you should pick those up front and not fiddle with them (When in doubt, use yew for low TL ;)
