High Tech Armors - Trade offs
HT65 - the Advanced Body armor performs Equal to the Assault Vest with DR35 vs fire arms and the ABA is much more expensive. Am I missing something?.
Also the Concealable Vest at DR12/5 at 2lbs performs as well as the assault vest at 8lbs? Again am I missing something obvious? |

Re: High Tech Armors - Trade offs
Realistically, the Trauma Plates that are inserted in the Assault Vest shouldn't provide full torso coverage. One chief advantage of ABA (assuming it actually functions as intended; the jury seems to be out on that) is that it provides equivalent protection to trauma plates, but over the entire torso, including the oft-neglected underarms. Unfortunately, this is more detail than GURPS gives to armor hit locations, at least prior to Low Tech.

Re: High Tech Armors - Trade offs
The concealable vest is, from previous questioning, not actually supposed to be able to fit a full size front and back trauma plates. It's meant to take the small trauma plate.
It also doesn't include groin protection.

Re: High Tech Armors - Trade offs
Thanks for the answers. Other than the threads is there an updated or maintained FAQ, i think a more informal one other than the official if only to be more up to date about Forum discussions and free from having to be "official"?
