[DF] Crossbow Grapnel
One of the players in my (Dungeon) Fantasy game is playing a halfling burglar and wants to purchase a crossbow grapnel from DF8. So far so good, I think he's got the cash and it'll certainly help at least him if not the whole party all at once but one thing neither of us can find is just how much cord comes with the spools or how much'll fit on it if he decides to upgrade it. Any direction to he answer would be great, thanks!

Re: [DF] Crossbow Grapnel
Eyeballing it, it looks like 10yards.
Weight of 3/16 cord = .5lbs per 10 yds weight of 3/8 cord (double thickness, cylindrical cord) = 2 lbs per 10 yards. Total Weight = 9lbs Crossbow = 6 Bolt = .6 Which means 2.4 lbs for cord and pulley. Figure .4 for the pulley and alakazam, 2 lbs for cord, or to answer your question, 10 yards. Did I get tha right? Re: [DF] Crossbow Grapnel
New spools cost $50 and weigh 2.5lbs. Assuming Nymdok's math checks out, 10 yards doesn't seem wrong to me. Lighter cord could go much further, of course. Giant-Spider silk cords may be worth the cost, if your little thief wants to go big.
